Angela's entry into Eric's Impressions book

Impressions of Life

Relationships (doodley characters)
Nature (plant and space imagery)
Spirituality/Faith (touristy photo I took of Notre Dame)
Mortality (skull and MRI)
Music & Literature
and I guess the bits of maps might symbolize our "location"
where each of us fits in the scheme of things
Sometimes creepy and sinister
Sometimes innocent, goofy and random

tart lemons or sweet lemonade
As I attach words to the images it sounds corny
and self-indulgent, but . . . well,  there you are.

The skeletal imagery came from MRI scans I had while living in Cairo.

I wanted to include it, but my 3-page entry felt finished, so I took the cheeky
liberty of disrupting the calm space between Petr's and Jemina's entries.

Angela, this entry is sooo sick - i'd say my ultimately favourite of all - the imagery you use and how you put it together is so strong. It much reminds me of Dave McKean's works - soo brilliant!

Thanks Petr! When I first saw Dave McKean's work via the Sandman series, it was like a bolt of lightening. :) I was in a design program and we were just learning a new-fangled software called Photoshop (ha! back when you could only "undo" so many times and there was no such thing as the "histories" palette). I lugged my massively heavy, 200MB external drive around in a gym bag, and tried to make dark layers like McKean. :D . . .oh, I just realized that when I began this entry, I was finishing Gaiman's novel, Neverwhere - the first I've read of him since Sandman. Cool Petr!! Thanks for your comment!! I wouldn't have made the link otherwise.
